A farmer by profession, Christian JACOB became involved in trade unionism. He became President of the CNJA, a member of the FNSEA board and of the EESC. Jacques Chirac appointed him three times as minister, first in charge of the family, then of small and medium-sized businesses and the liberal professions, and finally of the public service.

In the European Parliament, he chaired the Agriculture Committee and then became Mayor of Provins and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Léon Binet Hospital.

At the National Assembly, Christian JACOB chaired the Commission for Sustainable Development and Regional Planning before becoming President of the majority parliamentary group under the five-year term of Nicolas Sarkozy and then being elected President of the Republican Party.

With an international outlook, he will travel extensively (Africa, Asia, North Africa, etc.).
A man of decision, his atypical background, his legendary good sense and his qualities as a negotiator will make him a man recognized and appreciated in the political class.

Born in Finistère, a graduate of a business school, he worked as a retail banker for the Crédit Agricole Group and then for the Caisse d’Epargne Group, where he managed two regional banks (Limousin and Loire Drôme Ardèche). He joined the Caisse Nationale des Caisses d’Epargne in 2004 to set up the Group’s insurance business line

When SFEREN was created, he joined SGAM as CEO in 2010 and then headed Union Mutualiste Retraite from September 2014 to June 2020. UMR is a major player in individual supplementary pensions (€10 billion in assets under management)

Paul Le Bihan is very involved in retirement savings issues and actively participated in the discussions on the implementation of the PER within the framework of the PACTE law and in the EIOPA expert group on the implementation of the PEP. He is a member of the EIOPA Pensions Stakeholder Group (OPSG)
